Puppy time!!!

I am on the verge of convincing my loverly wife that we need a puppy.

The hard part is picking the breed. We are equally drawn to all of the following:

Lhasa Apso

Shih Tzu

Maltese

or Kyi-Leo (a maltese/shih tzu cross, they are not an AKC recognized breed yet, but who gives a shit, the crossbreeding has not caused any health problems not already associated with the original breeds)

what do you say org? What should the JerseyMistress household adopt into our already huge family???

I'd say the Lhasa over the other two. Shih Tzus can be a little grunty and snotty and a Maltese may be a bit too delicate.

Or the cross breed.

I had a Lhasa from the age of about 10 to 23, he was the greatest. We had a Shih-Tzu for a short time when I was younger, I have concern over their short noses in the hot Florida climate. My godmother had a Maltese for about 15 years and he was very loving.

I really LOVE the Kyi-Leo! fallinluv

The Lhasa and Maltese are the cutest. The other two look like they were hit in the face with a frying pan and some hair grease.

Then look at getting one. I don't find shih tzus all that cute with their smooshed faces, but the cross looks pretty cute!

I like the Kyi-Leo though, because it looks like a cookies-and-cream Ewok.

Those are all adorable. mushy You should consider a Brussels Griffon. They're beautiful, small, very smart, and really sturdy and solid dogs. They aren't as fragile as some of the other toy breeds. I have two but I'm not biased at all. wink These are mine, Prince (black) and Marley (red). love

Very cute dogs, but don't they shed? I know the others they are looking at are non shedders.

we are drawn to the hair of the lhasa/shih-tzu, so much easier than fur of most breeds. Shedding is virtually non-existent, and I know my allergies and at least one of my daughters allergies appreciates that. If not for that, there are all sorts of breeds that I love.

It's probably gonna be a Lhasa or a Shih-Tzu. love

They shed a bit, but it's not bad. I'm actually allergic to dogs, but I just take a Singulair or Zyrtec maybe once a week.

Oh I see. I'm allergic to mine too, but I find my allergies mostly act up when it's bad outside too.

Here's a little sidenote. I interview people that have med-mary jane every day. They still get cited even though they have their cards with them. What's up with that?

I don't know how it is in Flo-rida but I hope it's not like it is here. I hope you're not in DADE county. lol

I suppose, but wouldn't you feel more comfortable actually seeing him/her first? This is a family member, I don't want it just mailed to me.

although, that's pretty much how the kids came to us, right? here you go, work with what we give you. lol
