Seattle is very beautiful. I had a very romantic dinner one night at El Gauchos. It is a very nice steakhouse/jazz bar. | |

Seattle's a pretty nice town. I've been there a handful of times (used to live in Anchorage and Seattle is a nice getaway once in a while). I was there just a few days at a time, like a weekend. I saw George Clinton and P-Funk at The Fenix Underground in Pioneer Square (right near the new Seattle Seahawks football Stadium/old Kingdome) area in March 1999, well before the Seattle 6.8 earthquake that closed it a few years later. Just imagine -- 25 people on that stage!
Things you have to do are seeing the Space Needle and the EMP near Key Arena (take the monorail on Pike Street), hit the Pike Place Market and see the Athenian restaurant, where Tom Hanks had lunch with Rob Reiner in Sleepless in Seattle. But go across the street to the Three Sisters Bakery for some sweets and then next door to the counter to get yourself a cup of Northwest Clam Chowder. Other things you have to see is the Pacific Place shopping district on 6th Street and Pine, home of the J. Peterman Company (Seinfeld) and Gordon Biersch microbrew pub. Pacific Place is around the corner from a Gameworks (7th and Pine), Niketown (6th and Pine) and Nordstrom's. From Gameworks you can see, just north, The Paramount Theatre, where Prince played earlier this year on the United States leg of his ONA world tour. Other than that, there are some great restaurants throughout the town, and there is a Starbucks and Seattle Best Coffee stand on alternating corners, it seems. Seattle Best, tho, makes the best mochas. They include a stick of dark chocolate on top of whipped cream. Yummy. Have a great time, hope this helps. ...
