I cook...almost every night for me and boyfriend.
It was definitely how I got him...through his stomach. My sweet potato cheesecake sealed the deal. He was hooked after that.

Ohh! LOVE a good frittata, can I come eat at YOUR house . I make those every couple of weeks for a fast breakfast...and sometimes will even just make a miniature one for myself when I don't want to share . I'm also quite partial to making other versions of that egg-based dish, in Germany it's more pancake-y with pancetta and sweet onions; from Spain I LOVE a good egg, potato & chorizo "tortilla". I learned a Japanese version that's more pancake-y than the the rest though, called "OKONOMIYAKI", and we serve it with a ponzu-based homemade sauce. I guess anything that remotely resembles a fluffy egg thingy, I'm HOOKED

Not bad for a midwestern transplant livin in the South! OK, you had me right up until Bananna Pudding . I don't know WHAT it is, but I cannot stand Bananna Pudding...and this from a woman born of a Southern mother....I don't know what kinda cyanide laced stuff the women in my family used to put in those crystal bowls when they fed us, but I PROMISE you, I see bananna pudding to this day and RUN I adore you all here on this board, but I swear, if we ever dine together and you put bananna pudding in front of me on your dinner table... I am NOT eating it.

You'd have to make me your "food girlfriend" Boyfriend's barber (he brought him a slice) checks for it every time he gets his haircut. I'm working out the kinks on my regular cheesecake...it's just not wet enough. I think the next one I make will be the best one yet. Note to self...get off the cheesecake and get the banana pudding recipe! HAve to get the ring! [Edited 4/26/08 11:38am]

Alright, I'm inspired after reading the frittata post - there was a spinach one @ TJ's that I LOVED!! Just cut off a slice & heated it every morning for breakfast, it was easy & quick, exactly what I needed. But they stopped selling it for some dumbass reason I never thought to make it myself But with staples like that, the stuff I like to have on-hand @ all times, I really need to just make it (like I do w/ Baba Ganoush since nobody in my neighborhood makes it to my liking! ).
Potatoes give it some weight, but I'll use them sparingly. I'm thinking sauteed mushrooms & eggplant, peppers, onions & parmesan or romano. Hopefully I'll be in the mood to do it Monday, there's another priority this weekend... but I'm is inspiiiiired Now I need an oven-safe skillet , [Edited 4/26/08 12:51pm]
