Info on Direct TV

OK I think it's time to get rid of Comcast Cable. We're paying very close to 100 bucks a month for EXPANDED BASIC. That includes the DVR and becasue of the DVR, we have to pay for the digital service too.

I was looking at Direct TV and it's only like 35.00 a month. It also looks like they give you the hook up with the dish and everything. No hook up costs. But I am concerned about the DVR, which I love. I think DTV has that built in.

I know in a year it goes up to 53 bucks, but that is still cheaper than Comcast.

I just signed up with Direct TV. I am through with Comcast robbing my ass blind. I pay those bloodsuckers $80 per month with NO premium channels. I got direct TV for $29.99 per month for the first year.
Hells yeah. Direct TV here I come. No connection fees because I signed up through Verizon.

I have had DirectTV for 3 years now. I've never had any problems with them at all outside of weather interfering with the signal a couple times a year. I live near Buffalo and we get a LOT of wind and snow and it hardly ever is a problem.
Yes all the equipment is free as long as you stay with them for a whole year.
I pay about $65 for the extra channels plus we get all the HBO and Cinemax channels. That amount includes all our lovely NY taxes.

Their boxes usually include a DVR now but I think you can hook your own up too if tou want.

Oh and every year they call with an offer to upgrade the service if I sign for another year.

I have been with DirectTV for ten years. I am so used to the channels and service that I do not want to go to anything different. I was able to get an upgrade to the HD DVR and only paid 19.99 for the service call.
