In Memory of Tamaya Phillips

This really isn't a message that I should have to pass along to anyone in this day and age, afterall it is 2008 right?

Well last Thursday, a tragedy struck here in the Twin Cities of Minnesota...in a very senseless and preventable way....a child not wearing a seatbelt.

I wanted to introduce you to a beautiful little girl, whose life ended long before it should have. The following article, if you choose to read it, has some misleading information, mainly due to the on going investigation, but the jist of the story is accurate.

Please take the extra two seconds everyday and make sure you and your loved ones are fastened in their seatbelts. The following article is about Tamaya (Maya) and she will be missed....

I'm sorry for your loss.

I can't even function in a car unless I am (and others are) wearing a seatbelt...it just feels completely odd when I don't have one on.

Oh my god Kenny sad So sorry to hear about this. Tragedies are compounded when they involve babies cry

What do they mean weren't in proper safety restraint devices? Is that a fancy way of saying they weren't wearing seatbelts?

What a horrifying lesson. People please always buckle up. the benefit is clearly demonstrated time after time....

disbelief How absolutely brutal to hear your story and then to see your cousin's beautiful little face. Hopefully, folk will take the senseless pain from this to learn a lesson.

My condolences.

This is awful. I have worn my seat belt religiously since 1993 or so. I witnessed a horrible accident.

My prayers to you and yours.

hug rose heart so sorry for your loss....

People....please buckle up and put your babies in car and/or booster seats. (It really does make a difference...I lost 2 brothers in a car accident and what is worse is the fact that they likely would have survived had they worn their seatbelts.) rose
