What? They don'thave the trailers on the DVDs?

I sure didn't see them when I rented deathproof.
AND both dont come on the same dvd/packaging. you have to buy them seperate.
So Im waiting, hoping they come out with everything, trailers and both movies in one package before I buy it.

That's disappointing since the trailers added to the whole "going to the movies in the 70s" feel, the whole long dialogues, the scratched up film and everything. Saw them both in the theatre and loved them. My son bought DeathProof, I still get a laugh out of "I'm okay."

Planet Terror was mindless fun, but I preferred Death Proof. Yeah, I was pissed that Tarantino made me endure those long, stupid dialogues, but I anticipated he had fantastic payoffs in store -- and he did.

Also, because I was darn near lulled into a coma by the "down time," the couple instances of violence REALLY struck me, where otherwise I'd have easily shaken them off.

Lastly, six words: Sydney Tamiia Poitier and Rosario Dawson. lovelovelove

Isn't that funny!? nod

It's long been surmised that Tarrantino has a foot fetish. He has conspicuous female foot shots in every one of his movies so far. (Except Reservoir Dogs, which doesn't have any female characters.) But the leg and feet shots in this flick were just way too pronounced to mean nothing later on.

Planet Terror was more evenly paced. The first half of Death Proof was incredibly slow. yawn But damn, once that car chase began, the movie didn't let up until the end. The best parts in Death Proof killed any scene from Planet Terror. Having said that, Planet Terror was an overall better film.

The fake trailers win though. Anyone watching the films on cable, disc or online separately without the trailers is really missing out.

i like chicks talking in 'sex and the city'. i liked chicks talking on 'cagney & lacey'. but these are shows where chicks talking are kind of integral to the whole point of the show. chicks talking in 'death proof' had precious little to do with the storyline, and it just bogged things down so QT could share some more of his precious pop culture obsessions with the audience. that schtick is so boring. start a blog to talk about your little musical fascinations. quit thinking we want to hear about it in your movies. hmph!

I thought it had a Faster Pussycat feel to it. That was a lot of talking amongst chicks...abeit no Tura Satanta though.

'faster pussycat' is a camp masterpiece. i can see how 'deathproof' might have been going for that mood, but it was about as camp as a republican convention.
