EVERY horror movie worth its weight has to have a great disco number.

So, I saw this last night, more out of curiosity to see how closely it would resemble the original than anything.

It was awful- absolutely awful. It bears almost no resemblance to the original. In fact, the only thing that they have in common is a prom theme. It actually was more like Halloween or Scream than the original. There is absolutely no suspense, and many of the horror gags are repeated (the ol' "look what's in the mirror" is used at least 3 times), and the acting was wretched, particularly from the lead "actress" and her boyfriend. Side comment- since when was it the rage for teen stars to look 45? I guess Lohan was a trendsetter after all! All of the characters seem to stumble out of the My Super Sweet 16 meets Laguna Hills universe, or whatever. Maybe I'm just getting old...

Worst of all, there is no rousing disco number or classic dialogue. Instead, we get "C'mon, I'll go request some JT." barf

Kill, kill, kill. sad

I am. Love the o.g. Jamie Lee wasn't that bad of a dancer. Leslie Nielson was kinda stiff but's cool. Remember seeing it when it was first released in the walk in theatre. Me and some of my friend snuck in. That shit was fun as hell.
