Quitting A Job

Have you ever just quit a job and was relieved that you finally left the piece of crap job? Well, I did it Friday and I feel so much better lol The money was great, the hours worked with my schedule, but I just wasn't happy. I've worked there for eight months and was basically going nowhere. I'm looking for a new job now, preparing to take a social work exam-even though I'm jobless for a minute, I'm happy. You ever find yourself in the same situation?

Yes. I quit a job where that money was great, but the boss was greedy and kept paying whenever he felt like, so in the end, I quit.
I also quit a job that wouldn't pay me because they claimed to have no money.
I also quit a job where the manager was annoying me.
I also quit a job because I was tired of it.
I also quit a job because I wasn't paid enough.
I quit two jobs when I moved out of the country.

Yup, I left my last job a little over a year ago, and still haven't found a new one. I kinda like my independence and not having to rely on someone else for a paycheck. Eventually, I gotta find a job though, whether I want to or not. Corporate America sux.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

It's pretty good even with the economy the way it is right now. If you can put up with the crazy drving in Texas-you can find a job anywhere lol All depends on how far you wanna go.

I was happy when I was 17 and quit McDonald's. I was also happy when I was 19 and was fired from Burger King. My entire 20s I worked in a convenience store and was miserable but couldn't quit because I had bills that had to be paid whether I worked or not. For the last 10 years, I've been at a clerical job with no plans to quit unless I find a better paying job.

I've been on my new job going on 4 weeks now. I work for the same company, but different dept. I had been in my position for over 4 years. Although I was doing way more than what my job called for, my boss NEVER saw any kind of promotion for me even though I was doing the work. My other manager even approached my boss that it was time to push me ahead. He simply saw it as more work I could do.

It was even in my review last year "We need to help Bob find a new position that uses his skill better" Well they never helped me, so I had to help myself. And here I am in a new job I love and in a position that is now in a career path.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU! thumbs up!

I have worked for the same employer for 22 years. I am my bosses right hand man (err lady)
I work for an Attorney here in town, I am his assistant, not in legal matters (hell no) in his personal life. I, along with 1 other lady, manage all of his personal stuff. Sounds boring, but he keeps us on his toes, we do not always have to be sitting 9-5 at a desk, and the benefits and wages are EXCELLENT. He is very generous with us, even lends us his guesthouse on the lake when he is not using it.

I think what keeps me there is trust, he is not very trusting..he has been burned many times. He has a handful of us that have been around since the beginning of time.

I am telling the honest truth here, on friday, I was at work daydreaming about killing all my co workers. Like, literally dreaming of how the whole thing would go down.

I am in desperate need of a change of surroundings. neutral

Oh God yes. I did just the same thing as what you did last week except I do have a back up job that I know I will be happier and more satisfied at. The one I quit really sucked and yes I felt so good to put in my two weeks notice although they asked if I would stay til the end of the month and I said okay but when it's done I will be even more happy. Now I have more free time to go to school and the gym instead of working all day every day 7 days a week.

I have 3 jobs now, but I REALLY need to get rid of the one at Starbucks confused
Don't really know why I stay there (other than the fact that I love my coworkers) but it really is a shady-ass corporation and I need to start looking for an internship or something
If you will, so will I

I love the sense of freedom you get when you quit a job you don't like. I quit lots of jobs, always to find a better one - better money, better everything - everytime. It's good to move on when your time's up and I guess you gradually learn what you're really after. My current job is probably the best I've had so far, very casual office (programming), the first time I can wear pretty much anything I like. There's always a catch though, this time it's the CEO (a total narcissic type) if I ever quit this job, he will probably be the reason. But everyone in the office feels the same way so it's not so bad, we all support each other in turn... Thankfully, he's away a lot.

When I quit Six Flags I celebrated like the people did in The Wiz when the Wicked Witch was flushed down the toilet lol
