I dont agree with wonderful at all, something that is wonderful is not incredible - two very different sentiments. Incredible is almost beyond belief, something wonderful is worthy of your wonder i.e. awe 'A waterfall can be both incredible and wonderful' It can be wonderful, in that it is awesome and perhaps breathtaking in its beauty and magnitude. However it can also be incredible in that you cannot perceive how it came into being and over what period of time etc. so to say wonderful is the same as incredible, i think is incorrect. incredible is the next stage to the sensation unbelievable. Incredible is ALMOST beyond reason, unbelievable is BEYOND reason. example: The org is incredible but at times the people in it are also unbelievable! hope that helps! ps as a good example would you think 'MR Incredible' would have had the same impact if had been called 'Mr Wonderful'? Uh UH! Thanks, guys. Here´s one more thing. In these lyrics, who does Jamiroquai refer to? Cosmic Girl I must've died and gone to heaven Cos it was a quarter past eleven On a saturday in 1999 Right across from where I'm standing On the dance floor she was landing It was clear that she was from another time Like some baby Barbella With the stars as her umbrella She asked me if I'd like to magnetise Do I have to go star-trekking Cos it's you I should be checking So the lazer beamed me with her cosmic eyes Chorus: She's just a cosmic girl From another galaxy My heart's at zero gravity She's from a cosmic world Putting me in ecstasy Transmitting on my frequency She's cosmic I'm scanning all my radars Well she said she's from a quastar Forty thousand million light years away It's a distant solar system I tried to phone but They don't list 'em So I asked her for a number all the same She said, step in my transporter So I can teleport ya All around my heavenly body This could be a close encounter I should take care not to flounder Sends me into hyperspace, when I see her pretty face Chorus: She's just a cosmic girl From another galaxy Transmitting on my frequency Can't you be my cosmic woman? I need you, I want you to be my cosmic girl For the rest of time Who is Barbarela? I´ve searched the net and came only across a woman who has been first sentenced to death at Sing Sing prison and I doubt it´s her he´s refering to. yep definately Babarella!
Jane Fonda wierdy 60s fantasy film with loads of dodgy 'get the girl naked' bits and silver, glitter etc quite a cult film, and fits with the theme of space in this song. Worth a view but quite long and VERY STRANGE!! walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous

I empathise with you and the words advised to use I would have gone along with too. I am having to ITC classes on the odd occasion and it's incredibly difficult sometimes to explain definitions of words, particularly to kids. I had to explain to them what a fantasy story was! Yeah, tell me about it. Especially when English ain´t your mother tongue, it is very hard to decide the most appropriate term for some things. "Drew some blood" is the process of drawing blood into the needle to mix it with the H and then re-injecting it into one's arm. As a former junkie of course he regrets being addicted to H especially considering how it can destroy you. Despite all of this, he still loves L.A. more likely about drugs too! seeing as its Ozzy
theres no mention of a girlfriend in this song. you coulda been a better friend... seems to refer to 'times' in the previous line you had me hypnotised, lost and found sounds like the ups and downs of drugs to me. which is why its a plea to his momma that hes coming home changed. selfish love yeah we're both alone ride before the fall... all about drugs. But I gotta do this, cause it´s for my diploma thesis, so i gotta make sure I understand it right. So you think that times and friend refer to the same thing? That he means that the times of him using drugs could have been better? And who is the person or thing taking him in and driving him out. And if there is no person, why he means by "eyes". Lost and found and turned aroound By the fire in your eyes And whose face has he seen a thousand times? Damn, I am lost completely. Thanks for the info though. Chorus Ive seen your face a hundred times Everyday weve been apart Again ambiguous but I think intentionally so, I think this means literally hes seen his mamas face through all of this as his rock and now that is why hes going back to her for help, I think it also represents the drug as in while now not taking it and trying to rehab and get turned around, he still sees the spechtre of the drug personified with the word 'face'. Not a literal face but that gives a substance to the 'thing' drugs. I dont care about the sunshine, yeah cause mama, mama, Im coming home Im coming home You took me in and you drove me out Yeah, you had me hypnotized Lost and found and turned around By the fire in your eyes Of course it could be that the use of 'mama' is in fact a description also of the drug, if you decide that he is not refering to his mama in a literal sense but that the entire song is about his relationship with the drug it also makes sense. In that case, times gone by you coula been a better friend to me... could literally be a direct accusational cry to the drug 'mama'. He is dependent upon it like a mama, it nutures him at time and feels he has to go back to it. that could be what the choraus, Im coming home' is about. It could be totally about his return to drugs. [b] There you now have two possible interpretations of this song. Now I know its for a thesis it makes sense your rather odd mix of music. Of course all of this is my interpretation of the lyrics, others may disagree, but I think these two possibilities make the most sense. walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous

Well, my goal for the diploma thesis is to teach English vocabulary through music and see if it would help the students to learn the words better. And the selection is based on the student´s taste. Some of the students listen Korn, Lordi, Iron maiden and Black Sabbath and this song along with Red Hot Chili Peppers´ seemed to be the easiest as far as grammar and vocabulary is concerned, but I do realize that their meaning is deeper than what it may seem, but I have troubles figuring it out sometimes. Anyways, thanks a lot for the analysis. It makes sense to me. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. A "rolling stone" is a phrase used to describe a person who tends to wander and never sets solid roots down in one place. Say for instance if you might have a friend that constantly travels or moves. They never live in one place for very long because they are the restless type that is easily bored, and always in search of a new place to excite them. As a rule it's usually quite difficult for them to maintain personal relationships because they get more satisfaction in movement than attaching themselves to people. When one says "papa was a rolling stone", they are referring to an absentee father (that had little or no interest in building a family life). .

PREDOMINANT said: I would have said unincredible, but it appears that is not a word
You don't actually want native English peaople, you need people who have studied English, which as a native I have clearly never done. Indeed. There are pockets on non-ethnic, white English people who can barely speak at all, let alone full sentences and proper grammar like what you and I talks. This is not an exit
