New York or L.A?

I will probably be visiting the USA in a few years and might look for a bit of work there too.

Wondering which of these two is better/more enjoyable/easier to get work like waitressing etc?

Thanks!

Dunno about the waitressing.....are you hot??? If so, go L.A.....you might end up getting a movie-role in Hollywood or in the Valley.....

Personally, I am not that crazy about NYC, I like L.A.'s pace more!

NYC vs. LA generally comes down to personal preference. I lean much more towards New York than LA, but LA is nice too. Depends on what you're looking for.

If you like the standard club drugs (ecstacy, GHB, etc. etc.) go with NYC.

If you like cocaine, you can't get it cheaper than in L.A.--plus alot of porn companies will let you work for cocaine unofficially of course.

Though I'd prefer NYC because it's a walking town and has a subway, L.A.'s weather is superior. Plus, you can earn cocaine through porn.

Sex, drugs & Rock'n Roll, Carrie.....what did you think??? Both cities have that, L.A. has the beach and the mountains as well, and the industry! That's a big win over NYC!

The "industry" is the big downfall of LA to me. lol Plastic people who think they're important cause they're "pretty". BLEH! Not to say there isn't bits of that in NYC here and there, but it's not as prevalent in my (admittedly limited) experience.

I have a soft spot for NYC. LA is nice yes. But it's NYC!!! heart

The buildings. The massiveness of it. The art, the fashion, the hustle and bustle.

I don't know. I think either place would be easy to get a waitressing job. They're both super expensive to live in. LA weather is most definitely nicer. But, I'd still choose NYC.

I love the fakeness of L.A., it's all a big show.....and the show must go on! I truely enjoyed that when I was there last year (so were you! wink ).....I really kind of miss it!

NYC drives me nuts after 4 or 5 days.....it really does! shake Funny thing is that I only have that feeling with NYC, for instance Bangkok is a lot more hectic, chaotic, but I could easily see myself living there..... nod

Personally i hate LA.
The weather's nice, but the people are unbearable to deal with.

NYC's the way to go i think.
That and if you go to LA you'll need to buy a car.

In NYC, you don't need a car.

Bear in mind that in NYC though, the rent is just as expensive as L.A.

Plus in L.A. you can always do porn to make ends meet and afford the car.
Each has it's benefits.

I disagree, NYC is just as soulless and hollow as LA.....but LA has more features than NYC apart from just being a huge city!

I would probably prefer to live in NYC, but I'm male.
As a female you should consider several things. In L.A. you can easily freelance porn and prostitution whereas in NYC you're gonna need a pimp--and the porn there is all amateur, which is great but you won't get as much cash.

What I found is the NYC feels like a series of communities while LA feels like one giant suburb.

i would always recommend nyc over la. i just love the nyc aesthetic moreso than la. and i understand this may have just been my experience, but the la folks i met seemed initially to be very friendly and engaged but ultimately were just sizing you up to see what you had to offer. just seemed to be a very fake and plastic vibe.
i worship at the alter of eversoul's ass.

i rim. therefore, i am.

Tell me how I'm wrong, Erin.....
Having been to LA several times and even more times to NYC, I have come to find out the following:

LA-features: weather, beach, Mexico, Las Vegas, Sandiego (these are all relatively close). Skiing in the mountains (very close), great climate all year through (no damned cold winters!!!), entertainment, Sunsetstrip, Californian Sunset, porn-industry, friggin' Disneyland, San Francisco is relatively close, state-parks (Joshua Tree, etc).....Baja California.....you can go on!

NYC: Broadway, overpriced clubs & bars that really are not that good, high-rises wherever you can see, cold atlantic winds, shite winters with lots of snow, high rents, Boston (cool town, but put that up against SF!), New Jersey (wacky).....I am sure I can go one.....
