black belt and brown shoes--acceptable? i always thought your belt and pants and shoes should match (or at least be complimentary)....is this still true? | |

I think belts, shoes and bags should generally complement. Not necessarily match, but complement. Now, if you're making some statement by consciously breaking a rule, I say go for it! Just make sure there's some intentionality to it.  Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I Googled this issue, since I'm no fashion expert, and I'm curious myself whether the "keep your leather matching" rule still applies. From what I've read, most people still seem to think that black shoes with a brown belt (or vice-versa) is a no-no. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |
