Does the Org become Less fun (albiet still addictive) the longer your on the site?

I remember it being more fun here..

I joined in 2003

AND i always read the old school orgers talking about how fun it used to be..

so it's funny how i feel like i can relate to that sentiment tho, depending on who you talk to, it started sucking years before i first came...

how's that for an unintended inuendo

...yet im still here, obviously (see: addictive), ...but i do notice my "org breaks" become more frequent as time goes by

obviously fandom is subject to changes...

and the org is more of a community than an idol worship site (tho we do have our moments)...so friendships are made, and people log in for other reasons

but overall im just curious if ya'll experience is the same...

i'm sure i'm no where near done with the org, but i was just taking notice

so what do you think?.... consider how long you've been here vs. how much fun you have/had

I've been around for 6 years and as far as I can tell, it goes in phases. Sometimes it's super duper fun, other times it's pretty lame. Right now I'm quite ambivalent, actually. lol

Yep, I agree with Carrie. Sometimes it's super fun and sometimes it's kinda dull. My pals keep me coming back.

I have fun on the org, but it comes and goes. This summer I had a great time, the last few weeks it's been quiet! But I don't see myself leaving any time soon. biggrin

I don't know... I've been home for the past few weeks, and I notice that I'm getting bored with it after being on here so much. When I go back to work, I'll definitely be taking an "Org Break".

Thanks for keeping me company, tho! grouphug

Anxiety

when there's stuff going on in princeworld, it's usually super fun and exciting here - even outside of whatever prince is throwing at us, there's an energy among folks on the org that's a lot more joyous than usual during a tour or a new album release or whatever.

sometimes when there's NOT stuff going on in princeworld, it can still be fun, but after a while people get bored and restless and it can either get dull or irritating (or both) for stretches at a time.

i wouldn't say it gets less fun over time, but you do start to see the patterns in the peaks & valleys of folks' involvement here.

True. Org's got it's dry spells.

And you only find out how much so when you are sick at home and the threads are slow and not so inspired.

I mean, back in the day we were on 24/7; we had all corners of the earth covered. I was on with the late night US crew in the Parisian morning and we had threads with inspired people like Frog (the guy Imago tries to imitate) and Lollipop and Pook and Zandi and the peeps that lit up both chatroom and forums.

I also think the site needs more updates in the desing dept.; I wish I had the knowhow and the money to buy the site off Ben and spice things up.
