Hair dye...Hair color people, need help

I want to dye my hair.
Soo, bout the color. I have real pale skin, with hazel eyes and dark brown hair. I got some coppery highlights a while ago, they faded, but that looked nice. I was thinking of dyeing it a shade or 2 lighter, and then putting in highlights. And would it be really damaging to do all this, and straighten my hair? I always straighten my hair...
One friend suggested i go blonde, i think it would make me look washed out. ill
Ideas for color?
I like girly guys....

go to a salon.

Don't do it home-style. Because if you fuck it up, and then go to a salon to get it fixed, the color specialist may not be able to guarantee a correction due to whatever chemicals you may have placed in your hair.

And a specialist can totally give you just the right color.

For one you dye your clothes and color your hair lol And two, always have it professional done. The reason is because the stuff in the stores are old technology and expired products, they also use way to high of a developer which is why most people get warm or coppery color hair. ok I'm done with my five cents thumbs up!

Well I've just dyed my hair with lemon juice, so there. Sure, it dries your hair and strips it of oil so that the sun can lighten it, and the acid will probably help my hair to continue its steady retreat, but it does work. lol It's very natural looking too. I probably wouldn't recommend it over using chamomile tea, but I was bored and I had lemons. shrug

Another thing you have to bear in mind though is that even though the carpet should match the drapes, obviously when you dye our hair, it may not be the same color as your pubic hair.

But it should always COMPLIMENT your pubic hair color, especially if you're naked alot.

You're much too straight to know if colors compliment each other though, so please send me some pix of each and I can let you know if you've made a good decision.

thanks.

most people's eyebrows are darker than their hair, i believe. it depends on the shade of red you choose...it shouldn't look bad at all with the right shade. biggrin

Oh God, if you go light....please, please, please let them lighten your eyebrows as well.

The dark eyebrows light hair look is awful.

I go light and dark all the time and I always change my eyebrows accordingly.

You say you straighten your hair? With chemicals or with just heat that means that your hair is processed and not considered to be virgin hair. You might need to use a more mild developer, so you MUST go to a professional and tell them everything in consultation, so that your hair doesn't end up in the sink eek

You might also need a two or even three process hair color done. Do your eyebrows as well, Justerin is right on that one.

FYI... if you use curling irons, be advised that the color, no matter which you decide to use will fade very quickly, so have your colorist explain "base tones" to you as well.

Good Luck!

no no no! I think we have a similar complexion and hair colour; the one which works quite well on me in Honey colour. Have a few top highlights and see if you want to get a full head highlights later on. Do not go blonde it will make you look paler.
