Chapped lips

I swear my Mom says I was born with chapped lips, I have suffered with them since I can remember. Lip balms, ointments only do a temporary fix, they always come back. sad I hate it and want help! I have been to a dermatologist many times only to be back in the same boat. I know somewhere, someone in this crazy Org must have a remedy for me, help!!!

Maybe you could skip petroleum-based lip balms and go for beeswax or some other kind.

I know a lot of people (myself included) who only get drier skin when they use petroleum stuff.

Is this something I can buy in a drug store? or is it an online product. I am going to a big hoity-toity party this Saturday, and I dream of not thinking about my lips.

I've used beeswax base products, they work for a day or two, but my pathetic lips keep creaping back.

Imago

Go to a natural foods store that has a vatimin/drug area.

Ask them if it might be nutritionally related.

Do you eat healthy?

nod Agreed, I use that stuff all the time because my lips are chronically chapped during the winter. I keep some on at all times, during the day, and at night while I sleep. I put a good, thick layer on before I go to bed. Sometimes it stays on, sometimes not. giggle
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Do you drink enough water? Constant dryness of the skin can be from two things, dehydration, and eczema due to allergies. If you suffer from allergies you may also want to remove allergins from the home as best you can. Chapped lips and dry skin are symptoms.... look at the cause of your cronic condition, oh and if you are a smoker that could be another reason why your lips are so dry.

Yes beeswax is great first step, as well as drinking more water and keeping overall skin well hydrated. drink biggrin

I find lip balm helps (I like Burt's Bees), but it also creates dependence. I keep rubbing my lips together and need more lip balm. It's a vicious cycle.
