Has anyone done CBT (COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY) Wondering how successful it was for anyone out there?

I've been in it for about a month now. Too early to tell how it's going, but I already feel sort of unsatisfied after my sessions. It feels like things I could do myself without paying $150/hour.
My therapist recommended a really good CBT book called "Feeling Good" by a Dr. Burns. My therapist follows Dr. Burns ideas pretty closely which might be why I feel unsatisfied since I got the book from the library for free.

Yes, I went for 6 months to get rid of my stress. It worked GREAT and I still use the thought patterns I learned then to deal with things now. I can highly recommend it, but one thing: CBT isn't about dwelling on your problem, it's about identifying it and then get tools to move forward. Since therapy is so damn expensive you unfortunately have to look out for quacks who only want to prolong it to get your cash. Also this is a rather new form of therapy so make sure the person you're seeing really has a degree and didn't just read a book. Good luck and orgnote me if you have any other questions.

it made my battle with anxiety/panic attacks liveable/manageable.
it wasnt a cure all- but gave me the "tools" to handle life again. well worth doing IMO seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

I've learned about it in the past and just had a lecture on it last week, I have to learn to apply it to myself and get rid of my negative thought patterns.
