Just got back from the hospital, I got a paralysed left face. After having had the flu since thursday, the virus knocked out a nerve in my left ear. It's the nerve that controls the muscles on the left side of my face.

It all went gradual; I noticed the pain in my ear, I thought it was because of the violent coughing I do. But then my eye started to tear. Normally that stops after a few minutes, but this kept going for hours. I still thought; flu.

Then I could not control my lips anymore; I mean, you kinda notice when half the apple juice gdribbles down yer chin.
When I stood in front of the mirror I freaked; my left face drooped. One of my trademark eyebrows was outa order!

And then I hate being single; total panic and no one to comfort me. I had all of these weird images; being close to a stroke, as paralyses of the face is one of the signs it's on it's way.

This is where the pimpin' for hugs comes in. I needs them.

After midnight. No transport (bike is out of order too). I took the last tram to the hospital and when I announced myself with; "The left side of my face is out of order", I had interns rushing form all sides to have a look.

So I was helped quite quickly and diagnosed real quickly too. Nice doctor, thorough examination (no fun jokes, please, it was a She-dr)
And I was out inside of two hours. Most of the time was waiting.

I am glad it ain't too bad; the recovery will take some time, but there's a VERY good chance it will all heal without permanent damage.

So. Hugs. Like, RIGHT NOW!

I slept a little, not much. It is just too weird trying to fall asleep with one eye open. I want my eye patch!
