By the way, Val, have u got used 2 the fact that your local council here screws u out of a gallon of milk, or if u are a mother in this country a carton of baby formula, each week just for the priviledge of parking your car wherever u go???? Or for the priviledge of just owning a TV????? Have u got used 2 the extortionate car taxes here and yet our roads are in such ill repair compared 2 the beautiful roads in the USA??? Have u got used 2 being basically screwed left, right and center in this country and not having any agency(government or otherwise) or whatever 2 back u up and fight for u, the citizen?????

I bet its a total culture shock for u when u came over here 2 live!!!!! It is very different here I will admit especially since I came here from Florida. I guess one has to weigh the pro's and con's. I have put off getting a car until I really need one. It is not a necessity right now. Every place has it's advantages and disadvantages. We have milk delivered and it is not too much more than what I was paying at home. I do agree that it is really expensive to live here. For us it is the right thing for now. we have discussed going back to the states when it would benefit us the most. For him this is home and I can respect that. It is all he knows so it does not seem that extreme. It is home for me right now as well. Everyone I have met here so far has been really lovely. I am well cared for and loved...can't complain. | |

If it was because of his job, then he could have gotten a far better job in his field in the USA, with far better pay and a cheaper cost of living 2 boot as well as a better way of life!! The TV is shit but luckily I do not watch it much. Thank goodness for the internet. He owns his own business and the house so when the time is right we might just go back. Only when it makes most sense and we can get the most out to the business and house. There are many countries I want to see before we go back. The time is not right at the moment. Besides..the states would only have allowed him to stay for 3 months compared to my 6 months. If/when we go back he will have no trouble because we will be spouses by then.  | |
