I'm spending well over $150 week. Wow, you're either driving a lot or driving a huge vehicle I spend that much per gallon and spend about $35 a week. I drive a Corolla, and sometimes I roll into the pump and the person before me spent like $70 to fill their tank. Amazing! Also, I think the Europeans are pointing out some valuable info. Americans actually have cheap gas! hmm I wonder why... My Legacy

Food prices are killing me. And your milk's much cheaper than ours: last time I was at Safeway (it's rare), whole milk was over $5/gal. And we're surrounded by fucking dairy farms. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I think it's down to $1.04 today. I dunno what that translates in price in gallons. Spare a thought for us. It was about 95 cents a litre last time I saw, and that was a couple of months ago. It's probably over a dollar here now. So, about $3.60-$3.80 a gallon in a country where the average working class person makes no more than $180 a month. My father in law has an income of about $100 a month so naturally he can't afford to run his old Corolla anymore. . [Edited 2/28/08 17:49pm]

Basically people who get their food from supermarket dumpsters, and their furniture from the sidewalk. It's called being broke in ridiculously expensive cities. My sister and everyone she knows does that in San Francisco. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I saw some documentary a while back (can't remember what exactly, so I have no actual "source" ) but they were talking about the pros and cons of using corn for fuel. They said if we really focused on that, and started to use it in a big way, that the amount of corn needed to produce enough for lots of fuel and the process it has to go through to get it to that stage and available to the masses, it would actually harm the environment as well. (horrible run-on sentence there! ) It seems were doomed. We've already fucked things up beyond repair that's pretty clear.
