I watch them surrounded by Furbies all switched on in sync. It's almost like having friends.

I haven't yet bought a boxed set...except for some really cool weeklong specials that I must see again. Now that I have comcast...i just set it on automatic record and watch a few episodes at a time. I do ask for boxed sets as gifts though....and nobody has loved me enough to get one. I got another pair of slippers instead! cool

I most certainly will....I'm curious as well if all the hoopla is warranted....the folks I know are split almost right down the middle, either loving it or shrug

I generally buy them on DVD....i HATE watching on tv, ads ruin the whole flow of the show, and then waiting for the next week to roll by so you can watch the next episode. I WANT IT NOW DAMN IT!!!

Anxiety

normally, i allow myself one or two "appointment" series each year, and the rest of them i catch on DVD box sets, usually via netflix. however, in the past few months i've enjoyed the added convenience of digital cable and DVR, so now sometimes we let the "appointment viewing" pile up and we'll watch 3 or 4 episodes of a show in one day. these days it seems like a rip-off to only watch one episode at a time!

Mara

I have a low attention span for TV enough as it is, so I'm not good with keeping up on a full-fledged series. Usually if a show goes to commercials, I'm the type of person who easily gets distracted by other things and sometimes forget it's on. That said, if I do watch something it's because it's a part of a social experience and people are actively wanting me to view it. Thankfully DVR exists. Many times I end up missing weeks and weeks of shows if I'm watching it alone. So I'm not really good with series.

Box sets are the same way. Those are worst presents for me because I never watch them and then I just put them somewhere or give them to somebody.

First season we all loved it. Many of us are very split with the uneven 2nd season. IMO, I didn't think they could sustain the momentum of the first season.

I will normally try to catch the first one upon it's airing. I f I like it I continue. Sometimes, I catch a seies midseason if I have heard something about it. There are so many ways to catch up, so it's not an issue. This year was the first we had DVR, so we cued all kinds of stuff up to view and decide.

Rarely do I marathon DVD's and Rarely do I bother buying the whole sets. It depends on if the show is over or not, how many seasons it has and if it's still in syndication. I tried buying DVD sets of the Seinfelds but stopped after season 4. However I did get all of them for Soap and am now getting through Dynasty.

The only current show I will buy now is LOST, as it has multiple viewing watchability. See there is another issue. Now that I have seen Soap, I can't say I'd ever sit though all 4 seasons again...or even when I would embark on the journey. Maybe 10 years from now.
