How do u watch tv series inspired by the how do u read thread
how do u watch a tv series? do u wait patiently 4 each weekly episode, or do u wait til the dvd is out and watch the lot in one sitting. ive just watched the entire 1st season of Dexter in 2 days. i couldnt watch it on tv as it is only shown on pay tv in australia- and omg- im so glad i didnt have to wait each week 4 a new episode. 4 dvd releases so, how do u watch ur favourite series? seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

If I like the show I try to catch it when its first showing. I tend to get bored with DVD's cause I don't have enough time or the attention to watch one after the other. Plus by then other people who are interested in the same shows have already left me in the dust.
side note: how CBS is going to show Dexter on regular old tv should be interesting. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I think season 3 is in the works or gearing up.
CBS is/was going to show Dexter cause of the writers strike, I don't know if they will follow thru with it now that the strike is over. Even if they start I doubt they will show all the episodes once other shows are back in production and ready to air. [Edited 2/15/08 23:34pm] season 1 only just got released on dvd here this week but at least i know ive got a least one more season (maybe 2 ) to look forward to. I love Dexter i wasnt sure how the series would be after reading the books- but it was just as good - well worth the wait- and much cheaper to buy than signing up 4 a years subscription to pay tv- which the rugrat would commandeer anyway seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

In the last couple of years, I mostly watch them on DVD. There are a few things that I can commit to memory to sit down and watch on a weekly basis, but there are very few. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

With 24 I just wait till the box set comes out. Then I try to watch two episodes a night but end up watching 4 or 5. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

The three series that I've consumed were all on DVD....
....and yes, after the aforementioned testosterone boosters, this one too..... ...I rather watch on DVD because there's no commercials and I don't run the risk of having to play catch up if I miss an aired episode..... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

I watch most stuff weekly, though I'm falling into the habit of saving certain shows for weekend marathons when time permits (Daily Show/Colbert, Real Time w/ Bill Maher)...
I've only bought a few series on DVD, most of which I watched when they aired but I just LOVED them: Sex in the City, Six Feet Under, Arrested Development, Dave Chappelle, In Living Color, The Chris Rock Show, Mr. Show, The Bernie Mac Show, Action... I didn't know Dexter had a second season already, I just watched the first season on dvd over the last few weeks - it's creepy as hell but I love it, how is dude kinda sexy now?? Gotta rent season 2, looks like Showtime finally figured out how to make a decent show (I never got into Weeds for some reason)... Has anyone seen Californication? How is it? I also wanna buy Rescue Me on dvd, that's a good show.

Moderator | I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tv shows on DVD.... I watch compusively until I finish a series. It's like reading a book, but more expensive and more time consuming. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
