But my local grocers have been closing this out, in recent weeks. I think Ben & Jerry's might be discontinuing it...

plaintain is good anytime during the day but waking up to the smell of fresh slices frying?

Might have to look into that. I love ginger.
peel it, chop or crush it boil it until you can smell it really strong (well i like ginger when it burns to eat, and the ginger sold here in north america isn't all that great  )
then you strain (if you like, i usually dont), and sweeten with honey it's heaven in a cup, .[...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...] | |
