Everyday: sheer foundation, lip gloss, sometimes mascara (depends on where I'm going).

Going Out: above plus eye liner & shadow.

I'm getting bored w/ my look - never been a fan of blush but sometimes I feel like something is missing. I think I'll start wearing a hint of blush when I go out shrug

i'm very bored with my look.

I need a make over.

I never wear blush...that's just too much.

Dude, I've ALWAYS thought blush was bullshit lol but lately I'm thinking it may be cute at times, just to put that final touch on it. I'm thinking I'll get 3 shades: pinkish, peach-ish, bronz-ish... It can be cute:

She looks great but something about it looks unnatural.

I don't have pink cheeks

I may have to have someone do my makeup with blush so I can see because I just don't bother.

I hear you, but our lips aren't naturally shiny/colored either lol Believe me, I'm gonna have to practice w/ the blush. I want just a hint, & my cheeks are prominent already so it's gotta be right. Shit, now I'm scared lol

I'm starting to think... don't wear make up unless it's really necessary for what you're doing, where you're going etc.. That stuff can't be good for your skin. Plus, don't slap on moisturzier all over the place if your skin just doesn't need it. Surely topical application is best if you're coming out of the shower and most of your skin isn't dry or anything. I could be wrong, of course.

You're all wrong, fauxie. lol

A lot of people (men, mostly) say they don't like make up but I don't think they realize the difference. You don't have to look like you're wearing make up at all. It's the difference between a natural look and a glam look or a just plain, bad make up job.

And moisturizer is positively ESSENTIAL for maintaining healthy, happy skin, especially into older age. Though I agree, the best time to use it is immediately after cleansing.

And your sig makes me giggle.

But surely only where it's needed. Moisturizer, I mean. So you'll say that these fancy moisturizers don't block the pores at all, but I'm not convinced. I'm moving towards using as little stuff as possible, under eye cream aside (and even that I could do away with by just sleeping more). I found a natural soap that seems to work quite well for me, and I use shampoo of course, and that's it. I'm giving it a go for a month to see how it goes just not putting any cream on, and for me that's tough because we got all this free stuff a while back when we were buying up lots of Boots stuff to sell on eBay and I like to try it all. I just get a bowl of hot water once or twice a week, put loose white tea in it, get a towel all around me and sweat any crap out of my face. I should probably stop drinking so much beer though. lol

I love deep red or wine-colored lipsticks on women, so I don't have a problem with women in makeup, with one exception — foundation that comes off on my shirt when I hug her. I ruined a $60 shirt at a party once when a chick was wearing cheap foundation and it got on my collar. So please! Only Maybelline, Lancome, or a quality-made brand!

But what's the weather like where you are? If it's really hot/humid often then you don't need as much moisturizer but weather aside you still need something on your skin (a light moisturizer at least). No moisturizer means wrinkling faster - you won't see it quickly but you'll regret it when you hit your late 30's/40's & on, I guarantee you whistling

When I was in the UK I had to moisturize every day and I noticed the difference because otherwise I just got dry skin, but since I've been out here I've found that if (IF) I'm living right there's not much difference at all and if anything they make things worse. I will say, though, that when I had some Boots Protect & Perfect serum that I could see a difference even when I was off the beer and cigarettes and living like a monk. That's the only time I've really noticed a significant improvement under those conditions. That shit is gold dust and it's not relatively speaking that expensive, but I haven't kept up spending $35 per bottle since the first one. Still, I guess it's all for the real world, for us regular folks who don't treat our bodies perfectly, to give us a helping hand. I'm just not convinced that any of it does anything that lots of sleep, water, and not spending too much time in the sun would do for none of the cost. I suppose that's not really what we're arguing. Who really does live like that? lol I'm going to try later this year and I'll let you know how it goes. People have always guessed me to be older than my actual years so I'm going to see how cleaning works for me.

But honestly, don't you suspect that unless you have a really quite stubborn tendency to your skin to get ecsema or something of that ilk that if you got 9 hours sleep a night, drank maybe 3 litres of water a day, and didn't spend too long in the sun that your skin would be just fine? I can't honestly see why it wouldn't, especially if you're getting your vitamins. I'm just not sure it's realistic though. lol

I should say, my skin is far from perfect, and I don't think it ever will be. I've always had a tendency since my teens to get pimples, and now at 26 I still get them and I have the lasting effects of having had them years ago, but I can see differences in my own skin comparing its best and worst times and what I'm using, or not as the case may be. I'm sure it's different strokes for different folks, but I just have this sneaking suspicion that I wouldn't need anything if I just lived right. Is it not just a good remedy for the effects of a less than ideal lifestyle? Hey, I smoke and drink, so I'm not saying I'm living like that, I'm just sayin'.
