cry Man... we needed a great PG, but to give up on Harris so soon is a bit sad for me as a Mavs fan. Stack could back back after 30 days if the Nets buy out his contract. Diop is gone, so the only big guy in the middle is Damp...oh my.

This trade will hurt us in the middle...I see Dirk playing the five spot more after this trade...Looks like they're going to return to the fast pace game that Nelly had in place here. So much for the "Lil' Generals" defensive game mind set... time will tell.

Man.. people thought I was crazy for wanting to trade Dirk for Kobe.

Well, here's how I look at it:

Devin was good but not irreplaceable. Here you have a HOF PG for about 2-3 more seasons. Diop - No one's gonna miss him, let's be serious here. They can sign a D-Leaguer to do what he was doing. Maybe even Jelani McCoy.

lol I agree with ya' I can name two players I would not trade 1.Kobe 2.Labron the rest would be trade bait.

So far the deal is not going down, because Devin George has a no trade clause. Report is Devin George has said no to the trade, because he don't want to go to Jersey.

They are still trying to get it done...It may involve another player(s) or team(s).

Hasn't happened yet.
Devean George used his no-trade clause to block the deal.

So back to the drawing board.

The real question, who does J-Kidd suit up for the big All-Star game this weekend?

Also, it seems a big name player gets traded every week.

-Gasol
-Diesel
-Kidd

next week, look for Jermaine O'Neal, VC, Artest, Wallace or Bibby to be moved.

If Artest goes to Denver, this shit is gonna be REAL crazy.

The west is a BEAST now!

The Lakers fired the 1st salvo with getting Gasol, then PHX fired back with getting Diesel, and now the Mavs fire back with Kidd. This shit is gonna be crazy come playoff time.

They are going to beat themselves up and in the meantime my Warriors are going to slip by unnoticed right into the Finals!!!!

On a side note, I saw Jason Kidd play a few times in High school (St. Josephs) and then when he went to college at Cal.

I played against him when he went to St. Paschals and I went to St. Cyrils (grade school ). My younger brother went to St. Joe's when he was there.

I agree with you. The W's won't win this year, but they are in position to challenge in future years. Besides the Laker's recent move, all of the other deals made in the West are (not quite) panic moves made for the present, not the future.

Gasol & Kobe = Present and Future.

Cool...I never got to play against him, but there sure was buzz about him even in High School. And all the hype turned out to be true and then some!!!!!

So far, he's only taken minutes from Biedrins, which has hurt us, but I'll give him til after the Break to pass judgement.

They are 2 - 1 with Webber so it is a wait and see situation. Supposedly aquiring Webber is supposed to help the Warriors when they get bogged down into a half court game and he is supposed to help them rebound a little better.

I just hope he doesn't screw their team chemistry up.

Update...they are now 3 - 1 with Webber and are going into the break with an exciting win over Phoenix 120 - 118 (going 7 - 3 in their last 10 games and have a 3 game winning streak). Ironically Webber did not play last night for whatever reason.

You really think the Hornets will make it out of the East with Detroit and Boston in the way?????

(I know, how are my Warriors supposed to make it out of the West with Phoenix, La, Dallas, etc....)

Hornets in western conference now cause if they were in the east, you can guarantee they would win East. Boston overrated and sux and detroit old!!!!

You know what, you are right, the Hornets actually have the best record in the West 1/2 ahead fo the Suns. But that makes it even harder for them because they have to get past my Warriors first!!! lol

And the hornets did what last year????

Utah won't beat the Warriors this time around (assuming Utah even makes the playoffs lol ). They no longer have Fisher plus Webber can at least put a body on Boozer.

I'm not worried about looks lol . Plus it looked like Pam Oliver really wanted Baron in the playoffs last year.

I heard Devon George is putting the kibosh on this trade, until his agent explains all his options to him.

George went 0 - 11 last night. The fans were really on him.

It just seemed to me that there was something going on between them every interview she had with him during the playoffs last year. I could be wrong, but that was the impression I got.

Ummmm... not! The Warriors did nothing to address their woes inside, as that's where Utah creamed them. Chris Webber? Please- he won't get the job done. The Warriors can beat a lot of teams out West with their style (as is evident with their win over Phoenix), but Utah has their number!

As for Utah making the playoffs, they're in much better shape than the W's, as they lead their division and have a better record. Did I mention that they're 17-3 over their last 20 games?

Warriors will get Utah this time around. You don't have Fisher, Webber can at least put a big body on Boozer, and Baron Davis is healthy this year. His knee was really hurting in the playoffs, especially in the second round.

The Rockets have won 16 out of 19 and put a world-class whoppin' on the Cavs last week.

It has been SO LONG since the NBA was this good.
