So Do I Deserve This? While at a birthday party this past weekend I meet two brothas who are teachers at a "private" school and they couldn't be more happier!! I mean these two dudes got to talking about how stress free their work environment that I wanted to punch them out of sheer envy!
I told them I am not certified in the state of GA and one said..come get on the substitute list. I will introduce you to the people you need to get in touch with! Now, knowing how I've been on the frontlines at Crenshaw High in L.A. and dealing with these psycho/social behavioral kids here where I work; is it time I rewarded myself with this flip of the coin or other side of the mirror so to speak? By all means, take every experience you can. It can only help you in your career. You may decide to go back to the thick of it, but a completely different experience in doing what is basically the same work can be quite energizing. |

What to do? AS with any job change, you have to weigh the pros and cons. Are benefits included, such as health insurance, dental, etc. Is the pay comparable? We started our three children in public school, and switched to private schools. Don't think private schools don't have their fair share of students with behavioral problems. If the parent is a big donor, the student is treated differently. Parents can be demanding and ruthless. | |
