OK, I now think I'm ready for this to be a thread

I feel good after posting about my finding the 8-digit sequential dollar bill (and it was a $1 bill, which made me feel good about putting it away with my other lucky-number sequential bills. It would have been a bummer if it had been a $100 bill. I couldn't let a C-note waste away in a box, no matter how lucky/rare it is).

OK, here is a fun game that you Americans can play. It's called "Find Thirty-One 1's on a Dollar Bill".

The name also contains all the rules.

It's pretty hard. First of all, you almost certainly need a bill that was issued by the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas. Those bills have the number "11" in each of the four corners on the front. That's 8 ones!

You have to look close. There are more "ones"/"1's" than you might realize. You're going to need either some 1's in the serial number, or a couple in those little numbers printed on either side of the front, and in the lower middle on the back of the bill.

I count Roman numerals. There's a long one on the back of the bill, underneath the pyramid. It actually is a number than ends in "6", but a Roman numeral 6 is "VI". The "I" counts as a 1 in my book.

Back in the days when James A. Baker III signed the bills, it was easier to reach 31. I counted his "III" as three 1's. Also, bills issued in the 1900's are good, as well as bills issued in 2001. I can't wait until the 2011's come out - two extra 1's!

I believe my record is 40 1's.

You two are being anti-American. I am going to report you to the Committee on Un-American Acts. Soon, a Freedom Officer will be dragging you to your Liberty Cell!

(That was a classic troll post on Yahoo, by a poster called church_of_bush. It cracked me up every time I read it. Unbelievably, every time (s)he posted it, several people thought it was a serious post.)

i love anti-american! i used to eat spaghettios all the time and sometimes i'd even eat their canned cheese ravioli! it sounds nasty, but if you're trapped in a basement for any amount of time at all, it's seriously really tasty.

DigMeNow, that is really cool info. Thanks!

The only one I've ever come close to finding is the near ladder, and that was three days ago. I never thought about looking for them on eBay.
