embarassing email mistakes

I just sent a email that said:

Sorry for the incontinence, no harm intended.....

It should have said:

Sorry for the inconvenience, no harm intended.....

HA!!!!! Thats what I get for using spell check....

Have you ever sent or received an embarassing email?
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

I always battle with spell check on the spelling of my own first and last name. I guess they don't expect that a middle eastern person knows how to spell their name.

This is going to sound like I'm making this up, but trust me--I wish I was making this up.

I used to support a team that did what we call scripting, administration and distribution of applications. Basically we distributed applications like the ones you run on your desktops over a network to users allowing us to control all those icons, app behaviors, etc. from a central location.

Anyways, one of our applications deploy 2 hours before it was supposed to one morning and this caused alot of problems for several of our call centers. This sparked off a severity call across the company and my boss had to join it and speak on behalf of our team.

She then sent a followup email to all the execs and major steakholders involved in mitigating the call.

In her response she stated that users were still experiencing SPERMATIC issues. falloff

She came running through our area of the building yelling "Don't you dare answer that email!!!!" and then ran back to her office.

I was like, confuse then hmm then biggrin then eek, then falloff

We started to ALL respond to her email with our own theories. Mine was that the application must have "PREMATURELY DISTRIBUTED razz .

It took her a good year to live that email down. giggle

Sent and received. I used to take the piss at my old job. I used to work for a travel company that deal with hotel bookings. When a customer made a booking online they were given a reference number rather than a name which was passed onto the hotel initially. One guy emailed panicking about this and I advised in reply 'I am not a number, I am a free man simply will not wash with the hotel. Rest assured they should have your name 2 days prior to arrival.' He he! Another guy emailed to say that the website was useless and blamed me for wasting his time. I replied, 'You should hate the game, not the player!'. He was good natured about it.

That is very bad... sad

I once made a mistake using MSN at work. I wanted to invite a female colleague
to drink some coffee and was not used to the emoticons of MSN.
Because coffee starts with a k in Dutch.
I typed: "Do you want a kiss" in stead of "Do you want a coffee" (in Dutch) err

At work we use email to have some fun also:
We are working with private student data , grades etc. So it's important for
everyone of our team to lock the computer when you are away from the desk.
Whenever someone walks away from his/her desk for more than a couple of
minutes, we send emails to all of the co-workers on their account, saying that
they will bring cake the next day because of their birthday. boxed
