Please help a poor windows user out.

I am trying to get a Prince track off of a cd and onto my hard drive. I play the disc and copy the track that i want. It saves it as a 'windows media file.'

How do I save as a mp3 track?

When I go to look at the music I am sharing with winmx, all the songs I have swapped with others are there, but my two Prince tracks are not. I am so confused.

I have two songs that I want people to hear and I don't know what to do.

Get a utility such as Music Match for Windows. That will allow you MP3-encode your CDs. Once that is done, you'll need to put your MP3s in a folder that WinMX has marked as shared, or alternatively just share the folder where the MP3 files reside.
