It's been something I've been flirting with for about 2 or 3 years, but I wanted a kayak first. Now that that is out of the way, this is next on my list. There's a very active group of kite surfers/amateur here in Tampa and they're always out in the water every saturday. I'm tired of being jealous of them.

I'm hoping it starts with a new position at work. I'll find out on Thursday. If I don't get the job, then I'll probably be starting meds because that's the only way I'm going to be able to continue what I'm doing.
I'm refinancing my house and getting some bills in order. 2007 was boring. It seems like I've made very little change (aside from joining you lovely people at the org!) Although 2007 was nothing special, I'm optimistic that 2008 will be. Shake it til ya make it

My game plan is to put the internal changes I've been going through into effect, and to re-connect on a fundamental level to those around me who mean the most to me. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

well 2007 sucked really bad...
-i lost someone close to my heart, but at the same time i gained a really great friend who is still close to my heart, so that made up for the loss (it's the same person) - my cousin was shot and killed - school really got to me this semester, days of breakdowns..crying...appealing marks and considering just forgetting about the whole thing - i'm officially broke, visa's maxed to high hell because and only because of tuition, and i still owe a student loan ontop of that - i lost a few friends that i thought were better people than they were - turns out they were not - i've fallen out with a sibling, and i can't find it in my heart right now to actually forgive him, i know i will eventually but not this year. and so on, and so forth.. so for 2008: -keep up the bellydancing, HARDCORE. - to look hotter than i did this year (which doesnt mean that i looked hot this year haha) - to evolve in my art - to move my electric organ back up to my room and start on the keys again - to get my guitar back and start strumming again - to date as much as possible, meet new people and figure out what it is i want - discover myself and learn to live with and be happy with it - somehow come to terms with my sibling's fuckups and find it in me to forgive him - work on my tealeave and tarot reading - learn more about spirituality - fast more often, eat better for myself - actually go to the gym because i've been paying for it and so on and so forth... i refuse to call them resolutions, they're just goals, whether they'll be resolved in '08 or not will be determined by how ready i am to work on them. [...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...]

Hi Karen,
Well of course the main crux is going over to South Korea to teach English. This will be in February for an initial 1 year period. I will be teaching kidergarten and middle years children English. In the short term, I am trying to get fitter and am making a very vain attempt to give up smoking once and for all. I also want to cut down on my drinking. I would like a girlfriend in the long term. I have become a couch potato.
2008 is going to be a year of exercise, dancing and lots of travel. I will be traveling to London and Amsterdam (God willing) in June. I'm also trying to plan a day trip to Edinborough. I would spend more time but I can't since I don't get paid for the time I have off. I'm really really excited!!!!! 2007 has definately been the worst year ever. Starting in June, I took my mother to the emergency room because she was talking crazy stuff and wasn't her usual self. She never returned home. She went from hospital to hospital and then from nursing home to nursing home. We watched her die and there was nothing we could do to stop it. Then a co-worker died in July. Then, a very good friend and co-worker died of cancer in August. Less, than a week later, my mother died. Then, on Christmas Eve morning, the old computer my mother left me died so now I'm computerless except for at work. And as we speak, a very good friend of mine is in the hospital dying of cancer. In the middle of all this, I've gained about 35 or 40 pounds since June because of all these depressing events.
For 2008, I plan to pull out all my funk and shake all the fat off my ass that I've gained since this summer, and then some. I plan to send my credit card all the extra money I can and pay it down. I've already started doing that this year bringing the balance down from $13,000 to $8,500. I've mellowed and become too nice so I plan on being a bigger bitch next year. I've also slacked up on being a whore so I plan on being a bigger whore next year also. Andy is a four letter word.

Ex-Moderator | OK, I do plan to get back on top financially. Hence the second job. Which I took a month ago or so.
And I plan on visiting Karen in February. And I plan on going to Thailand with Dan and Karen in November. And maybe a short trip here and there in between. |
