SirPsycho

the LIKE thread!

when did the word "like" enter the lexicon for uses other than comparison?

i noticed a good deal of us do the.."i was like...and he was like" or even the "5 muthafuckin dollars a gallon?...like, seriously?"

can anyone pinpoint it?...is it even slang anymore? or has it evolved?

like really tho...

anyone? hmmm

Oh I don't know. It is irritating though. There's a young chap who talks like that on the bus I get in the morning. I don't know if he just uses it for effect or what. I turn the volume up on my I-Pod when he gets on! he he! I think it makes the speaker sound thick.

"Shit's analogically-inclined like a fecking simile."

Ever notice that thick "British" accents from women tend to be so "FECKING" sexy? I love it! It's like, whenever they say the word, "FUCK!" it so sexier with the "E" that replaces the "U".
