Potatoes, vegetable oil (partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor (wheat and milk derivatives)*, citric acid (preservative), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain color), dimethylpolysiloxane (antifoaming agent)), salt. Prepared in vegetable oil ((may contain one of the following: Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated corn oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness), dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent). *CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK (Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients.)

You know that's probably not too far from the truth lol

Have you tried our bacon salad today?

The lettuce was grown in bacon grease. It's infused with flavor!

But what about all the other similar things found in food? It's not like this is the only extract from an animal they put in food. There are so many!

I want to talk a bit about cochineal extract y'all.

Hershey's uses it. Many makeup companies use it. Clothing companies use it.

It's in your fabrics, the stuff you dab on your lips and around your eyes, and of course, your food.

But what is it exactly?

You just took blatant advantage of using 'eating' and 'Coch' in the same sentence. Undead, former, horny Prince would be so proud.

Well, it's an insect:

The females of these species are killed, dried, ground up, and used to make "natural" food colorings that go into the stuff you use and love.

Vegitarian companies have been guilty from time to time of placing cochineal dies in their foods and wrapping products. It's brilliant red coloring, and the fact that it's plentiful and non-toxic, makes it ideal for many uses.

Anyways, let me know what you think about that. Thank you for your time.
