Really sad story about a girl in a St. Louis suburb who committed suicide behind an adult prank on MySpace. Dardenne Prairie is very close to where I live and only recently has this story began to make waves nationally. It's unfortunate that no criminal charges can be filed against the woman responsible for this hoax.

well, i started thinking about the horrors many parents have unleashed upon their children over the generations, but at least with typical dysfunctional family cycle of abuse, it's not done out of conscious open spite for the sake of entertainment.

This was a follow-up story posted today that identifies the family that created the 'Josh' identity and some of the things they're dealing with, in that neighborhood, as a result.

This is horrible!

They never cohersed her in any of the information I've heard on this to do it.
Though of course I don't know the law very well.

For me, it's not about the charges or what is legal. How can those folks sleep at night?

Apparently not. The local DA has been trying to find something, anything that would stick for months now. See this story is actually about a year old, but it's only now getting national attention.

Seems the only thing these people are guilty of is being assholes.
