Mon's sister and her bf went to look at scooters/mopeds yesterday. I think I might get one for us to go to the market and to pootle to places around here considering new ones are just over $1000 and a year old one surely can't be more than about $600-$700. I don't really care what it looks like.



I remember petrol being 18 baht a litre here a few years ago and now it's something like 32 or 33. So it'd make sense.

Actually, put it this way, it now costs about $60 to fill up a typical Toyota Corolla. That's 10 day's wages for the average Thai. Is that really tenable???

Then again, motorcycle taxis are everywhere and they only cost about 30 cents a kilometre so maybe it's not worth buying a bike.

Maybe a decent bicycle would be better since most trips are under 3kms.
