In any case, I have TWO trees. One is only about 2 feet tall, the other about 3.

Here's the real tree. It's actually alive and can be planted after the winter is over. My mother gives me one every year:

We usually wait closer to Solstice to put up the Yule tree So when we do I'll post a pic

I better get to putting my trees up. I have 3 this year, all with a different theme. I will be photowhoring like a mofo when I get all my winter wonderland put up. I decorating!

Oh, and I think it's great that your mom gives you a tree every year. And it's small enough to not leave an obscene amount of needles.

You'll have to wait until Sinterklaas left the country, which is December 5th. Only then I can get my tree. I'm gonna get a real life tree this year. My cats will LOVE it.

Actually, I have room for a real tree this year. In my last apartment there simply wasn't room for one, which is why I did the little ones for the last few years. I'll have to think about doing a real one next year. My family sells xmas trees every year, so I can get top-of-the-line ones for free.

We don't usually put ours up until a couple of days before Christmas Eve (which is the big day here - Christmas Day is just for relaxing), but then it stays for quite a long time. Officially I think you're supposed to toss it out on jan 13 but I sometimes keep mine a bit longer than that. I always get the really big trees that are as dense as possible. Sometimes I can barely fit it in under the ceiling but I don't care. It looks and smells so good!

But here Xmas holidays end around January 8th
