Yeah, I thought about amateur porn after I posted that.

For sure. It's really changed the face of porn....probably for the better.

Well, that's a whole different issue. But it's of no interest to me.

Three words you will never hear in porn:

I love you.

That depends on what porn one is watching wink

That being said, not much unlike Erin there are some times when the last 3 words I want to hear in the heat of the moment are "I love you" razz

...but different strokes for different folks, right?

...even so...I do somehow feel inexplicably inclined to give you "cool guy" points for being man enough to demonstrate your sensitivity to the topic and share that you don't find porn appealing. Even though we have different views on why porn is or is not a good thing, I really dig your honesty and consistency in this discussion. By the way, I think you've posted that sentence the on another thread before innocent

I'm not a fan of porn at all. I think it's degrading and in some cases, quite sickening.

I do enjoy a good old raunchy love/sex scene in a movie, but I don't like actual porn at all.

Sounds like an on again off again voyeur you are!

Thanks. I have a strong view but I try not to be judgmental about it. God knows I have enough faults of my own. I used to be big into porn and I didn't like what it did to me, so I try to help others who might be feeling what I felt.

And I have posted that sentence before. You really pay attention!

I watch a bit of porn here and there, probably 3-4 times a week. I don't give it a lot of thought in between though, and I don't feel guilty for it, it serves a purpose, to get off quickly when I am alone shrug
early exposure to porn makes it my sexual activity of choice neutral real sex doesn't turn me on as much. Sometimes I wish that was different, I am sure therapy could help me, but I care less and less about it these days.

I understand there is a growing visible demographic of women who enjoy -- and spend money on -- porn.

Are there any female porn fans here? And if you're willing to talk about it, could you tell us what you get from it? Do you think it's precisely the same thrill as some men enjoy?

This reeks of an assumption

Ah, I see!

Well, conventional wisdom suggests that porn to men is primarily a visual cue that appeals directly to a carnal drive to sexually dominate (or, I suppose for some men, to be dominated by) a woman not "their own". In that sense -- and if you buy that notion -- porn is as much about a fantasized power or ownership differential as sex per se... and that gets a guy off.

Same (or similar) for women?

I thought your question was an assumption that women could not be the same as men in that regard, so you wanted to know how women felt because of the assumption they don't get off to porn the way men do

Not at all. I make no assessments either way. I'd suppose some women might enjoy it for the same reason as many males; others for entirely different reasons. I want to hear it from the horses' mouths.

Well, I always assumed everybody watched it to get aroused. Now, I'm to the point where I watch it just to watch it. Most of the time, my general goal is to get aroused

That's interesting. So the goal is arousal. But when you "watch it just to watch it," I take it there is no arousal in those instances. In those cases, what do you get out of it?

I don't know, I don't think I can really speak on behalf of other women hmmm but to me for sure, visually YES, but I certainly don't imagine myself involved in the scenes unfolding in front of me, and I don't particularly care to get to know the participants, for me they are just bodies copulating. These scenes I refer to in my fantasies later to get off also, are pretty much anonymous, totally voyeuristic, totally detached.

I would like it more if it weren't so male orientated. Huge boobs, lots of close ups on the women, stupidly LOUD moaning. I know there's hardly a venue for porn for women because we've been programmed to be disgusted at it but I really wish there were more options for women. It's a huge double standard if you ask me.

My question is: do the straight female porn fans enjoy the gay porn as much as many (many) straight male porn fans really (really) enjoy the lesbian porn??
