Target raised prices 10 cents on everything

What a bunch of crooks and people whine over Walmart all the time. I went into Target about ot buy me my 1.09 cent cookies and what a surprise. They went up 10 cents to 1.19 cents and then when i went to get chips, they went up 50 cents on that. So I turn around and high tailed out of there. I am not paying 10 cents more for nothing unless i need to!!

I know! I hate going there. If I have to go there,I make a short list, stick to it and get out!

I had a cold and I went to Walmart at 5 am. It wasnt crowded but there were 5 cashiers chit chatting just staring at me while I waited for one of them to check me out. I was sick and cranky. I yelled. "HEllllo! Can I get some service!" rolleyes

But that $.10 goes to support the cruel Chinese sweatshop bosses, and isn't that worth it, really?

The walmart I prefer to go to is the one in an upperclass neighbourhood. It's always nice and quiet and fully stocked. lol

probably, true, but I still don't like the idea of them, or of importing nearly everything we buy from across the world.

It's amazing how hard it it to NOT buy things made in China.

They opened a new one here. I went in and asked them where the litelife veggie hot dogs might be. The gum cracking, rude, unaware cashier said ~ well, if we have anything like that they'd be with the HOT DOGS dontcha think. Never will darken the doors again.

i'm phobic about asking any employee at a chain store a question. the way it always works is, a) they don't know what the hell i'm talking about, and b) once i am able to explain it in the most subatomic broken down terms possible, their face lights up for a moment and then they're all, "oh we don't carry that." nuts

Well there are two solutions to that, aren't there?

A)have corporations and chains actually, y'know, train their employees. I work at a big-box chain and the training -or lack thereof, is fucking abysmal.
B)have the CEO's pay their employees enough money to actually give a shit about what they're doing. I'm sorry, but if someone's working a wage that amounts to 7 bucks after deductions, they're just not going to try all that hard.

i think the obnoxious thing is, management puts SO much pressure on employees to "provide outstanding customer service!" yet management gives employees ZERO tools with which to be "outstanding", so we end up with store clerks hassling customers with a bunch of "can i help you" when the reality is NO, YOU HAVE NO ABILITY TO HELP ME WHATSOEVER! lol

I haven't been in a wal mart in many years, but I never had the impression it was an establishment where one would easily find veggie hot dogs. I support and applaud you never going there again, but ya kinda walked into that one.

Hmmm ~ maybe but the Meijers next door has a great vegetarian section (they are both superstores and are cut throat in competition). I do agree that the wages are dismal and the employees at all of these superstores have to endure a lot from customers and the many chains of command they are forced to jump hoops for but a little hospitality can really brighten the atmosphere of even the gloomiest concrete box.
