why do people not read things properly

I have lost count of the times I send an email to a client or supplier with a couple of questions I need answered, and they reply with "thanks!"

people contact you and ask you all kinds of stuff and when you
take the time out to send them a decent reply and ask them sum
questions in return all you get is a 2 line reply, like they
haven't read any of it.

so you think, "ok, they're not interested" but the strange thing
is they are interested, they just can't be bothered to interact.

i once slipped a paragraph in one of those messages where i said
"i've killed 17 cats today and it felt great. i'm still on one
hell of a buzz from that. it's my greatest passion, killing cats"

and they replied

"great. thanks. so how was your day?"

lol

I just got a nice email from a client that made up for it all mushy I feel all warm and tingly inside - he wrote: "I LOVE p42" things like this make my job worthwhile cloud9
