Damn org! mad

I typed out a long response....

Anyway, to make a long story short I am not against it nor opposed to it in the future.

If I want it I'll do it if I don't I won't. biggrin

Do you have plans of what you will have first? Or you will wait for all to sag and drop and then book and urgent appointment? lol
[Edited 11/21/07 15:06pm]

Oh, I don't have any plans. I'm not even saying that I'd do it. Just that I won't rule it out. I'll go with the flow and see what happens.

I'm at constant war with my body so I'm not ruling such a possibility out.

However, I have had a quasi-cosmetic surgery done before, and even though I went to the best doctors, the results were rather underwhelming.
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

Right now I think the idea of getting cosmetic surgery is absurd, but ask me again when I'm 50 or 60. Right now I think if I got big gross liver spots on my hands, I'd want to get them removed. Maybe by the time I'm old enough to have liver spots I'll look at them as some kind of damn mark of pride or something, because I have a weird-ass brain and senility will make it weirder. nuts

Tom Waits said getting older makes you look more interesting; it's like a being a cool old tree that's got all kinds of knots & twisty branches, and if you look close enough you might see a face (well, I added the last part!)

I don't think there's anything Right about ageing naturally, or anything wrong about going the other way.

What I find rather irritating are these fiddling moralists who think that have the authority to decide over others, and over any given thing in general.

I think it's good that people fell good about themselves and if they don't they should take whatever measures within their reach.

I've had a breast reduction. I didn't really like the way my double D's looked but probably would have left them alone if my back hadn't started hurting. It's better now.

I'm not opposed to plastic surgery at all but will only get it done if I can't fix some of the problem myself. I can lose weight on my own but that dimple in my left butt cheek isn't going to suck itself out. I would also get surgery on my double chin but only if I can't lose it on my own.

I would never mess with my bone structure or anything like that. I don't necessarily like the way I look but I've grown accustomed to it and don't feel I need to mess with it. As for other people messing with their bone structure, it's all based on how that individual feels. I think a lot of people suffer from body dysmorphia and probably should seek therapy before they do reconstructive surgery but I've met people who I totally understand why they'd go plastic. If it makes you feel better, do it. If you do it and you didn't get what you wanted out of it then give it a rest.

For years I was convinced that I wanted/needed lipo. But I promised myself I'd take a real honest stab @ working out intensely before I did it, & I'm so happy I did. The notion of gaining a tiny waistline in exchange for fatter arms (or wherever it would go that would look weird & unbalanced) just isn't worth it. It's gonna be super hard to maintain the weight I'm trying to achieve but at least now I know I'm capable of doing so.

When I start to crack I'll probably investigate Botox or something, but facelifts make people look like aliens. I don't think I'll do that...

Yes, I've had plastic surgery, as I've mentioned before.
When 32, after I was done having children, and I bellydanced for a hobby, I had a tummy tuck. This was after trying sit ups for years, with no change. (The surgeon explained to me, the abdominal muscles separate and exercise doesn't put them back together.)
I had a facelift 4 years ago, to get rid of the jowls. All those years of running and pounding the pavement took it's toll. I always wear a tight jog bra, so the boobs are OK.
Never regreted it.

How was the recovery for the facelift? I'm just curious if you don't mind me asking. The tummy tuck? I have had abdominal surgery with an 8 inch cut, so I might sort of know that pain.

I'm sure the tummy tuck is a much larger cut though right?

One can never say never, but I don't think so.. unless it's to repair say a broken nose or something like that.

I just don't like surgery, period. lol lol

Sometimes, for people who aren't in the entertainment business, I think a very little goes a long way. I have an acquaintance--a former beauty queen who had a little bit of surgery--it looks like she had something done to her lips and face though she'd never admit to it. She's approaching 40 or might already be 40. Well, I don't think it looks very good. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure people who didn't know her before still think she's quite beautiful because she IS beautiful. But since I've know her for a while, there is just a little too "perfect" about it. (Well her lips are just plain weird, I think, too poofy.)

Maybe she had it done too early because we have a neighbor in her 50's or maybe even 60's who freely admits she had a full face-lift. Now she looks a lot more natural. It's not like she doesn't look her age, but it's more than she doesn't look as tired(?). The work was very, very subtle. She's very proud of the work, and I think she looks great, but then to me, she's always looked great.

Anyway, I just don't know if I could go through the procedure and recovery unless it was more corrective surgery... but to each his/her own.
