thanks boo Ybor city, which is a section of Tampa (think of it as Uptown for Tampa) is basically a latin style French Quarter. The architecture vaguely resembles New Orleans, but the flavor is all Cuban.

I can't explain the connection for someone I've not met or have much in common with, nor someone who is even remotely like me in personality, but you'll always be my Fauxie. It indeed is complicated.

Burning anything with a "The Smiths" logo on it is powerful voodo indeed. It's like not only wishing to turn gay, but to be a power bottom to boot.

That was really sweet. You'll always be like the mia nawy I never had, but that in Thai culture I could quite easily justify having.

How do you feel about the gentrification of ybor city? It's a double edged sword for me. One the one had, the increased security, retail shops, and restaurants caterng to families was a nice touch--my nephews favorite part of town. But on the other, a few local cuban owned family businesses couldn't keep up with the rent Displacement sucks. And you almost always lose valued culture in a situation like that. But you mentioned increased security, and that was something sorely lacking in Ybor. In fact, the last 3 or 4 times I was there, there were several fights a night, some of which seemed to last longer than they should have and threatened to spiral out of control.
