First off, they prefer the term "Bull Fighter". Their job is to protect the rider from the bull when he gets thrown off or hung up in the ropes. They get right in the bulls face and stick their hand on its nose to get its attention.

Bull fighters are live-savers, no doubt about it. They are also the toughest guys in rodeo.

Here's what they do when they get bored:

They set up a table with a red tablecloth and poker chips in the center of the arena. Four bull fighters sit at the table. Then a bull is let loose. It will charge the table.

The last guy that gets up to avoid the bull wins the pot. It is INSANE, but those guys are tougher than anyone I know.

what you say, even seeking you out in p & r redface very kissable kiss2 darn married orgers confused

ok... rodeo for me is canada's longest continuous rodeo right in my backyard!

wood mountain stampede... 117 years running. it's very beginnings are tied
to the battle at little big horn and the fleeing of the sioux to this very area
for protection by queen victoria. our national police force was created to
stem the tide of whiskey trade across the border and a post was started at wood mountain.
between the settlers, the metis people and the sioux the stampede was born.

for me the stampede will always be synonymous with summer holidays, sitting
under the poplar boughs cut for the grandstand, and getting a big bag of
cherries from the fruit truck to eat while you cheered on the local kid who
lasted 2 seconds on the bull. biggrin
doveShe couldn't stop crying 'cause she knew he was gone to stay dove
