That's why I think it's so great to be able to say it freely and often. I tell my niece and my mother I love them every time I talk to them. And I mean it sincerely every single time. I only see them about once every other month and only talk to them once a month or so on the phone and if something should ever happen to them or me, I want it to be the last thing I ever said to them. Cause it's the most important. It feels like she doesn't mean it, and feels insincere sometimes. Probably not even that actually. I just think it cheapens it sometimes, I don't know why. It's funny because I'm very affectionate with her and like her being affectionate with me (cuddles, kisses etc.) but for some reason I just don't want to hear those words too often. Sometimes it kinda bugs me. I think I just prefer actions to words and I'm not sure I really feel the sincerity in her words as much as her actions. I suppose she's not great in general at keeping her word so maybe that's why. She does show her love, but the words mean far less to me. I hear you about telling people you love them when you don't see or hear from them often though. Also, Mon and I never go to sleep mad at each other, and never part upset with each other if one or the other is going out. I think that's important and we seem to be on the same wavelength where that's concerned. No matter what the beef is, you just don't part with your loved one, even for a seemingly routine trip to the shops or something, with all that anger forming the parting words and feelings. Then there'll be an 'I love you' and a hug and it's understood that whatever the problem is it's just a blip and we do still ultimately love each other deeply. ... I am the same..if I feel it I say it though I admit I do not feel it for just anyone. Those who I truly love know it..there are ways to show it besides just words. How are you? We were just wondering how you were doing the other day. I'm doing fine sweetheart

I save it for Laurel, and my male friends when I'm drunk.

I used to use them a little too freely in my younger years. Not in malice, mind you, but more out of naivety. Until a rather eye awakening experience taught me to put them away until they have true meaning.

I say it to some people here, some that I never met but I do mean it as much as I love the personality they have shown here. Justin and Cloudy come immediately to mind. I think I make a few people here uncomfortable when I say it to them.
Those three words can be a huge source of comfort and when they are said for the first time from the heart, it is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. Some people I find it easy to say to them, some that I really need to say it to, I can't.

Even without the words, I can feel the love. I don't think I've ever said 'I love you'. I've definitely said, 'I'm in love with you'. Actually, it was probably preceded with "sorry", as in, "Sorry. I'm in love with you".

Do you use those words freely or do you reserve those words for the "true loved ones" in your life? These three words mean different things to me. I can say I love you to a friend, but it not mean the same as when I say it to me kids. I really don't say it to friends all that often. I tell my kids I love them all the time. And, I sincerely mean it each and every time I tell them. I tell it to my family and husband, but I don't say it too often. For mean to tell a romantic interest I love them I really mean it.

I reserve the words "I love you" for the people that I truly feel love for and care for and even with those people, I don't say it much. Although, when I do say it, I definitely mean it
