I often make smoothies because they are so quick to prepare and so nutritious. Mostly I use various combinations of fresh fruits (usually peach, blueberries, strawberries, banana, melon or cherries) with whatever fruit juice might go well (pineapple, OJ, grape, apple, etc), and then either a sorbet, yogurt or Kefir. Sometimes with ice cubes or, depending on what is in a particular smoothie, some vanilla extract or other appropriate flavouring.

Occasionally I will include a leaf of kale or some raw spinach for a bit of greens.

Recently I tasted a peanut-butter & banana smoothie which was quite good. smile

I've not thought to use seaweed powder in a smoothie, but that's a good idea - the added nutrition would be excellent. smile Does seaweed powder have a strong taste?

You've likely already come across similiar recipes to the following, but just in case:

BEWITCHING SMOOTHIE
Ingredients:
2 cups apple cider
2 cups vanilla ice cream
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
food coloring

Combine all ingredients in blender; process until smooth. Add any color combination of food coloring: orange, green, purple, etc.

-----

PUMPKIN SMOOTHIE

1/2 cup canned pumpkin
3/4 cup milk or vanilla yogurt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. brown sugar
4 ice cubes

Combine ingredients in blender and puree until smooth. Serves 2 or 3.

Pour into small glasses and garnish each with vanilla yogurt or whipped topping; add a sprinkle of cinnamon or colored candy sprinkles.

sounds pretty much like what i do, only instead of soy milk i'll usually substitute fruit juice (orange or pomegranate, depending on what fruit i'm dumping in). i like my smoothies super duper thick, though, so maybe the soy milk is better for your prefs...

The pumpkin one sounds awesome. I'm gonna make that.

I like smoothies with vanilla soymilk, virtually any fruit, and ice. Maybe a little agave or honey. Simple. smile
