not really but i can see why a lot of people would feel that way.
it's easier to get things off your chest to a harmless distant person than to one around you who might use what they know against you one day. the same could be applied on the person on the other end. | |

Although for the most part I would say that you'd have to get to know someone irl to feel a bond with them and feel understood by them I do believe there are those little rare instances where you "meet" someone online and there is an instant connection. | |
