Ex-Moderator | fuschia hair? Nope! It's RUBY! updated with pics My stylist just called me.
My main red has been discontinued and we've been searching for the next perfect color ever since. He's doing my hair tomorrow and he looked for colors today. My fave is a true red, but they're incredibly difficult to find right now for some reason. Next I go to the orangey reds and lastly, I'll do the violet-ish reds once in a while, but it's not my preference. In any case, he found a violet based red that is quite close to true red, but he also has this fuschia color boost he's been wanting to try out and called me to convince me to let him do it. He assures me my hair will not be purple or pink, but will kind of have a pink-ish hue in the sunlight or something like that... I told him I'm game, but I'm a little concerned... It's a bitch having to change my wardrobe and make up around my hair color... What do you think? |

You can always coor over it (eventually) if it's truly horrible...but I think it would be rather beautiful if the right shade

This thread speaks to me.
My hair was died violet, but now it's faded to brown It went from purplish to an auburn color to brown in about 2.5 weeks. I think that's a great color. You should try dirty blond with a streak or two of it. I'm going to be frequenting this thread mostly.

Because he's one of my oldest friends and I pay him a fraction of his typical costs, I give him some allowances now and again. I do trust him, but... fushia? |

Nope, it's utterly gone. He did find the exact shade in a demi-permanent, which we're going to try the next few times, but reds fade FAST and one of the things I loved so much about the color was it was still vibrant and gorgeous even as it faded to an orange-y softer color. The demi-permanents fade even faster and I know I won't get the same hues. But we'll see... |

This might be a really stupid question, but have you tried Ebay?

I'm fine with trying to find something new... it's just an adjustment. lol. |

Is he using semi-permanent color? How do you think it's going to fade?
It looks like you really trust your hair colorist so I say go for it. MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! We want cigar puffing men that look like they wanna beat the living daylights out of us" Val"sporking is spooning with benefits"

Moderator | Go for it! You can always fix it if you don't like it. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Fuschia has its place, but I get the impression that you may not be in that place anymore (although I have no doubt you could rock it). If you are looking for a big change, go with a really dark chocolate, a color that looks black in some lights and brown in others.
Otherwise, I'd stick with a shade of red similar to your current color. It suits you very well. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on
