Probably the first year after converting from the old black & purple site to this format...it was like the first time we all got to actually interact with one another after only posting on news threads. Suddenly we were outfitted with avatars and profiles and private orgnotes to each other...it was one big party for about a year or so because we were able to give a fuller version of ourselves here than we could on the old site.

I loveddddd that chatroom back then. Just fun. Many left the org to run over the npgmusiclub when that started up.. There's quite a few former orgers on okayplayer as well. I miss the old chat bunch

Right now, to me, the org is giving me a 'been there, done that'-feeling..... It is probably me, and therefore I am not posting much anymore as I used to. I mean, how much photowhoring can you do, and really.....some of us really shouldn't be photowhoring at all (not excluding myself.....I'm not mentioning names!)! For the rest, I kinda miss the days where everyday here was hilarious, the yahoo-sessions, etc..... Like I said, it is probably me and someone else might be having the org-ride of their life right now!
I won't be leaving or so.....no over-dramatic goodbye threads by me.....those are cheesy! my 2 cents.....

I don't want to be the Debbie Downer here, but I think it's easy to over-romanticize a social history on web sites, or maybe it's difficult to acknowledge the fact that sites like the Org seem (to me, anyway) to function in cycles...one "generation" of users will bond stongly with each other and vibe together in a way that's entertaining and addictive for everyone, then we all kinda branch off and get distracted and then a new cycle of people will come in and start the whole cycle over again, maybe with a few stragglers from the past sticking it out.
I my *personally* feel like the site's kind of in a lull or a holding pattern lately, but maybe that's because a lot of the people I got close to on the Org are people I now consider "real time" friends with whom I interact outside of this place, and there's a whole new gaggle of newbies and lurkers coming to the surface and getting ready to define their whole cycle of Org uber-goodness. Maybe if the social aspect of this site is starting to cool for some of us old-timers, it could just be the way of things as the space turns a corner for a whole new group of people. I guess I'm just not ready to dismiss the here and now of the Org completely - not just yet...

I feel like I haven't been here long enough to see a true "golden age."
However I do miss the crazy posts from Zelaira and the hilarious and witty reparté from: cborgman Handclaps (although I frequent HQ & see her there) abierman jerseykrs funkmistres I agree with Anx, it's in a lull. Maybe it lulls when Prince is most active and when there's no Prince news, people are more creative with their threads to amuse themselves. (sorry about that crazy run-on sentence....)
