Last Tuesday my left testicle started hurting. I've noticed this before, but the pain would hit hard and quickly pass. Now I was (and am still) having constant pain- felt as if my testicle was being squeezed. I told my nurse friend about this the next day and within 10 mins of us hanging up, I had an urologist call me at work telling me my apt was at 2:30.

The doctor examined me- couldn't find anything abnormal, tested my urine which was normal, and tells me he can't find anything wrong to justify the pain *I say* I'm in. Which pissed me off- I was about in tears when he was up on my left nut! Long story short, he reexamines me and finds that I have a torsion and/or inflammation of some tiny unused cords above my epididymis. These cords are used when one is a boy and unused once one becomes a man. I'm being treated with iburprofen, doxycycline, and hydrocodone AND there's no quick fix- I've got to wait it out and it could take as much as a month.


*Now onto my question: As a precaution, the doctor wants me to have an ultrasound this Tuesday. Has anyone here had a scrotal ultrasound? I've been searching the web and have found plenty of info BUT damnit I wanna see a video before Tuesday. Not that I'm a freak, well I am, but I'd just like to know what I'm in for! They say this is soooo common yet I don't know of anyone who has and I work in a pharmacy, so I hear about all kinds of procedures.

the ultrasound itself won't be uncomfortable but
since you are already in pain it will probably be
a little squirm-worthy.

only time i had one was on my boobs
they put a bunch of lubricating gel on you (hopefully warmed!)
and the handheld thingy who's surface area
was maybe about as wide as your finger.

i'm guessing they have different sized ones as to
their use. she offered to do an internal ultrasound for
shits and giggles... that one looked like a vibe lol.
i said thanks but no thanks

anyway, they will glide up and over, around and underneath.
if you can manage to watch the monitor you will be
able to discern the differnt tissues. for me you could
see the ducts, fibrous tissue and one tiny little white spot...
just fluid but something she made note of. and when she went
under my arm you could see striated muscle which i found very cool.

hope the medication eases the pain till they can do something for you!!

It is nothing. They just put some jel on the sensor and move it across your sack, It is not evasive at all. Other than 2 or 3 people seeing your goods... it is NOTHING. And if you got a twist or a mass, the sooner they find it the easier it will be to take care of.

it is really like rubbing a remote control on your sack. it is a bit of pressure (to get uniform contact) but it is nothing to wory about. And if you get a bit of a 'reaction' they are use to that!
