Funny thing is alot of people (Apple and Mac fans, gadget geeks, etc) knew there was going to be a major announcement this week. Some even warned friends not to buy anything until after the conference.

Of course, I'm sure there were plenty who had no clue but I'm sure this is going to piss off a lot of their loyal customers but they gain new customers every day, casual and future-loyalists who will take the place of those who don't want to buy first gen Apple products again.

i really dont understand how people eat these things up! I mean how many of you guys here already have a Ipod in working order and are thinking about getting another one cause they have added this "touch" crap into it, why dont you go spend that money on something helpful like sponsoring a starving kid in Africa instead of supporting a company which already has too much money to know what to do with it, also when you know in another 6 months there will be another "new" Ipod out!

And this $100 rebate for the people who bought the Iphone on release, you dont hear me complaining that Microsoft dropped the price of the Xbox 360 a couple of weeks ago and people who got it at release want their money back, cause its just bloody ridiculous! You bought the product knowing full well the price WILL go down eventually so dont have a cry because you paid however much at its release, its a joke!

Perhaps this rebate is Apple showing true signs of not knowing what to do with their vaults of cash!

Can i get my money back for my VCR since everything went to DVD, and all the other things i bought that went out or the prices came down. I almost feel embarrassed for them… how quickly they changed their tune because they’re getting back $100. They bitched about it from the moment the announcement was made about the price drop and swore they would no longer buy Apple products and screw Steve, etc. Meanwhile all along they’ve been happy with their purchase. As soon as they get some money back, Apple is the best company ever, Steve is somehow deemed a “hero” and now they can buy Apple products again with pride… as if they’d ever really stop.

I have a basic phone that I try to keep limited to emergencies and calls when running late for appointments. When I see people walking around doing every day things like shopping, crossing the street and um, DRIVING, I wonder how they managed before they had phones.

I do think most people would watch the planet fall apart before their very eyes-—which it may be doing at a decelerated enough pace for them not to panic—-before they gave up a lot of things. Most can’t even switch to less harmful dishwashing powder and detergents let alone their luxuries.

I still have a 2nd generation with the gray screen that works fine.

I tried an iphone, and my fingers were dirty, so I tried to use a napkin over my finger to operate it. I was amazed that the phone only responded to my skin, not just any kind of pressure.
