Id love to go more than anything in the world. It even occured to me that Ive got my TEFL training course on the 22nd so its entirely unfeasable otherwise Id just come down for the crack regardless of getting a ticket or not.

Unfortunately crappy situations like this happen. Im gutted.

If any apparently straight man attempted to "stand up for me" I would feel highly patronised and insulted.

The majority of my friends are as good as dead. I wasn't willing to play the "token puff" anymore. Fuck them all.

Believe it or not, I don't think he did it. eek

As for gay people, OMFG, they are sooo diffent than me it's not funny. Breathe oxygen, only so much tolerance for heat and cold. Born on Earth. Wait they are no different than anyone else, why does everyone have such a problem with it? I can't use that "I have a gay friend line", but I honestly have no problems with any group of people, just individuals.

I don't think of it as a "gay community," in as much as social labels of division so frequently suggest a total compartmentalization that is pretty fictitious. People are people, all deserving of respect and honesty. So, that means you're everything from artists and politicians to clergy members and relatives.

It's like asking what short men and women mean to you. They're just people. Period.

the gay community is like family, and it's true what they say - you can't choose your family lol

it's at the same time frustrating and wonderful, ignorant and insightful, hurtful and nourishing, gorgeous and repulsive, depressing and uplifting.

as much as i live in gay overload, it is one of the best communities out there. we all know each other in town and keep a pretty good eye for each other.

where else can you get a slew of differnt people all working for the same goal.

I missed this.

Common interests. I woulda been called a raver once upon a time. Well, in high school, really. And when the illegal raves got shut down in Mpls the only good house/dance music in the clubs were at the gay bars for a time. The regular clubs eventually caught up, but by then the damage was done. I had a gay best friend (who is now my hair stylist) and became a regular fag hag for a time. I gloried in it for a while, then I went through a phase where I pretty much refused to go to gay bars and tried to avoid all things "gay". Now it's all just a part of who I am, who I know, etc. I really don't think about it one way or another until someone happens to ask about it. lol

I think if one immerses themselves in the "org culture" they can't help but become mixed into the gayness of it all.

Illuminate gays from an invasion, and you basically have a straight girl date.

....but a few years ago, my sister came out....so, even more now than ever, people are just people....

I love the energy gay men bring when they dance.
Sometimes it's shockingly erotic, but other times, it's just very energetic. They really know how to make a room bounce.
