I think I can get along with most anyone in real life. We may not "click" personality wise, but there would be little reason for me to actively dislike them. On threads, Internet braveness makes things more complicated.

It reminds me of the shoes in memoirs of a geisha. The girls wore socks with sandals all the time, and it was a similar style shoe. The look is very specific.

I am fascinated with that piece of culture. I'd love to go to Kyoto which is where that story was set. I'd love to tour all of the little Japanese Tea Houses and such. The women are beautiful in a very non-traditional way. Did you read the book? I did. I liked both the movie and the book.
