i saw a BUNCH of uprooted trees on my walk to wrigley field to get to work this morning. it was like the freakin' day after.

half the lights at my CTA train stop were out, and the escalators were down.

so far we have three people who called off work this morning because they still don't have power.

MY power went out for a while yesterday - thankfully it was just for a minute.

it's still dark and gross looking out, and we're supposed to get more big scary storms before tonight.

I haven't seen anything like this and I've lived here my whole life. Our power went out for about 4 hours.

I'm glad you're all okay. My best friend is in Northbrook for three months on business and his entire company had to take cover in the bathrooms for the tornado. Insanity. He's only been there a week and your weather has him frightened for his life. He says one moment it's thunder and lightning, and within 20 seconds the rain will stop and the sun will come out. He'll open his windows just in time for more sideways rain.

Tree branches broke the windshield of his rental car! Guys, he's from CA! We'd be building permanent bomb shelters if we we hit with that shit.

And I drove through that mess a couple hours earlier, when it was still in Wisconsin. Had to pull over on the highway a couple times.

Yet another reason I live in Florida. The weather here is always perfect.
