http://www.kiva.net/~mconrad/miata1.jpg After this one... well, Alfa Romeo is planning to return to the U.S. market during this decade, and when they do, they'll have the next generation Spider. I love the Spiders that were sold in the U.S. until the mid-1990s, such as the car in the picture below: http://members.aon.at/mod...rs/026.jpg However, the current generation (which has never been sold in the U.S.) just doesn't look like a Spider should: http://www.drewlarson.com/spy4.gif Don't get me wrong--it's a nice-looking car. But it doesn't have that Spider look. Oh, and it's front-wheel drive too--that's another break from tradition. If the new one actually looks like a Spider, I'll strongly consider buying one, even though I know it's going to be built on GM's Epsilon front-wheel drive platform. Pininfarina, the designer of the classic Spiders, is doing the new design (but they also designed the current "Spider").
